Hillwalking and Wild Camping

Hillwalking

Do you want to brush up your navigation skills? Improve your confidence in poor conditions? Or even just explore some natural beauty, far from the beaten track?

If any of these sound valuable, a day of guided hillwalking might be for you.

What to bring

  • Suitable hiking clothing for all weathers (all 4 seasons have been known to happen at once in Scotland).

  • Comfortable, durable footwear (boots, hiking shoes)

  • Water (1-2 litres).

  • Food for a whole day of activity.

  • Waterproof jacket and trousers.

  • Map and compass (can be loaned).

  • Suitable rucksack, 20-40L

The day rate for hillwalking is £200.

Wild Camping and Expeditions

Do you want to get out of the city and spend a night under the stars. Do you like the idea of waking up to the sounds of nature, be it the wind rustling or the patter of rain on your tent?

Or maybe you want to complete a long distance hike with some support, carrying your own food and shelter

What to bring

  • Suitable hiking clothing for all weathers (all 4 seasons have been known to happen at once in Scotland).

  • Comfortable, durable footwear (boots, hiking shoes)

  • Water (1-2 litres).

  • Waterproof jacket and trousers.

  • Map and compass (can be loaned).

  • Suitable rucksack, 70L.

  • Tent.

  • Stove.

The rate for wild camping and expeditions is £200 per day.

For an additional £20 charge per person per night, the expedition can be catered, with a fine camp meal shared communally.

I am certified to supervise and assess hiking expeditions though Moray OAC (Open Award Centre). Please contact me to discuss arrangements.

  • Expedition training: Navigation, First Aid, Campcraft, Route Planning

  • Practice expedition supervisor

  • Qualifier expedition supervisor or assessor.
